Dance recitals proceeding in spite of schools closing

RaajjeTV journalists have been barred from videoing dance recitals to be displayed to Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud. The recitals come after Health Ministry had advised to close schools due to the outbreak of H1N1 across the nation. The Ministry had also advised against congregating in public places, in to control the spread.

In spite of the warnings issued by Health Ministry, the recitals had gone ahead as planned. Children from various schools had assembled in Hiriya School, adjacent to Thaajudheen School, the premises for the flu clinic opened by IGMH.

An official at the school had placed his hand on the lens on the station’s camera and forced the crew to leave the premises.

Practices are held from 8.00pm to 10.00pm every night. Around a hundred students are participating the in the dance item for the king.
