President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has on Wednesday conferred the championship trophy to the winning team in the Kids Football Fiesta.

The president was in attendance at the closing ceremony of the event.

The Kids Football Fiesta was held as part of the many festive celebrations of World Tourism Day 2019, in the Football Stadium in Henveiru-ward of capital city Malé on Wednesday evening.

It was an initiative by the Ministry of Tourism, which organized several successful events for the day, annually marked on 27 September.

While Ghaazee School and Majeedhiyya School went head-to-head in the finals, the score came out two to nil.

President Solih awarded the winner, Ghaazee School with the championship trophy.

The best player of the tournament was also awarded.
