The police service has stated that burglars had entered a building which was evacuated during Friday night’s fire in Male’.
The police received report of a burglary on the seventh floor of an evacuated building on Saturday morning.
700 US dollars, an Apple Watch, and an Air Pod were stolen from the seventh floor. The police also received report that MVR 37,000 were stolen from the eighth floor.
Friday night’s fire had begun inside a warehouse in Henveiru ward, which had spread to seven nearby buildings. One person died after being trapped inside her apartment during the incident.
