Addu City Hithadhoo’s Addu Equatorial Hospital has been built and handed over to the Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure.
Alia Investment has completed constructing the hospital at the old Equatorial Convention Center last week, but some reports claim that some construction work is still unfinished.
Opening of the tertiary hospital is expected to ease the burden on the Addu City Hithadhoo Regional Hospital, which receives 250 to 300 visits per day.
The Equatorial Convention Center was built in 2011 for the SAARC Summit during the MDP government, but former President Abdulla Yameen’s administration had decided to transfer it to a hospital.
