The children’s park at the Male’ social center is to be closed temporarily for an international championship.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment stated that the children’s park area will be cleared out for the international event on September 6 – 8.

The Ministry stated that the social center grounds is the best place to hold the event and that the government would have to spend millions to hold the event in any other area.

The ministry also stated that they are discussing with the Male’ City Council on moving the children’s park to another location.

The government has built parks in six islands and is currently working to build parks in 12 more islands.
