Fathimath Dheema won the gold medal for Maldives in the Table Tennis women’s singles at the Indian Ocean Island Games.
Dheema and teammate Aishath Rafa Nizam made it to the finals held on Saturday.
Dheema won 4-1 sets, resulting in Rafa winning the silver medal.
Maldives table tennis team also won gold in the table tennis team event as well as gold and silver in the women’s doubles.
Overall, Maldives won five medals in table tennis and has reached the target of winning 15 medals at the Indian Ocean Island Games.
