Council members in Kanduhulhudhoo island, Gaaf Alif atoll, have shared development visions for their constituents with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
This was done alongside several discussions held during a meeting at the President’s Office on Monday morning.
Councilors of Kanduhulhudhoo shared urgent needs of their constituents among several development plans they have planned for the island’s progress.
Highlighting the need to raise income for the council and develop the island’s harbor, councilors requested the President to allocate and construct a picnic area for the island community.
Further, they stressed that the island’s youth community requires futsal grounds for recreational purposes.
Raising issues regarding the island’s underdeveloped health center, the council members had urged the government to bring the required upgrades in order to provide island residents with better health services and treatment.
Councilors went on to note that the island requires road development initiatives as well.
Having listened to the concerns and issues risen on behalf of the island community, Solih stated that necessary action will be taken after holding thorough discussions with the relevant ministries in order to address the issues at hand.
Earlier, the President had assured the people that no island will be left out of his development agenda.
