Contractors have been hired to develop housing units in B Thulhaadhoo, and Lh Naifaru, as part of the government’s housing scheme.
This was confirmed at a press conference on Wednesday at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
State Minister Ahmed Nashid signed the agreements on behalf of the government.
Development of the new 100 housing units in Thulhaadhoo has been handed over to a joint venture between Precision Engineering Services and Flux Inc.
The project is estimated to cost MVR 80 million and is to be completed within 363 days. The 100 housing units will be built in a 1,100-square-foot area and will consist of one-floor apartments with three rooms, three bathrooms, sitting room, kitchen, store room, and a laundry.
W&A Overseas has been tasked with developing 100 housing units in Naifaru. The project is estimated to cost MVR 71 million and is to be completed within 311 days. The housing units will be built as buildings of three to four floors with three rooms, three bathrooms, sitting room, kitchen, store room, and a laundry in a 1,100-suqare-foot.
