Maldives Correctional Services has said that Former Prosecutor General Muhuthaz Muhusin was admitted to hospital on Monday to receive an injection.
In response to press inquiry over the admittance, the service released an official statement on Tuesday saying that it was essential to Muthuaz's treatment, for a condition in his hip region, that he receive the injection.
Muhusin, who currently serves a 17-year jail sentence on terrorism charges, was admitted on Monday night.
