Four arrested in connection to foreign worker's disappearance

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested four in connection to the disappearance of an expatriate worker, Luthufaru, in Shaviyani Lhaimagu.

While police did not reveal any further details on the matter, RaajjeMV understands that arrested are four foreign workers as well, that worked along with Luthufaru on “Kurimagu 1”.

Also on Monday, police revealed that they had found “body parts” they believed to belong to the expatriate worker. Said body parts were found underwater by a diving team, while searching for Luthufaru.

The 40-year-old missing expatriate worker’s boat captain had previously told the media that they found out that he had gone missing as they were preparing to move out of the dock, on April 21.

While Luthufaru is said to have been seen quarreling with some of the crewmen on the night of his disappearance, some of his fellow crewmen are suspected to be involved in his disappearance.
