Immigration's former head's suspension extended

Two officials were suspended in February, for one-month

While the Civil Service Commission (CSC) had suspended two officials at the Maldives Immigration in February, one of them has since been reinstated.

Immigration Controller Mohamed Ahmed Hussain told RaajjeMV that Assistant Controller Abdulla Waheed has since been reinstated, and that only its former head Hamid Fathuhullah is the only official currently under suspension.

While both were initially suspended for one-month, Fathuhulla’s suspension was extended “until the probe concludes.”

CSC has since appointed the Chief Principal Immigration Officer, Moosa Rameez, to his post.

The two were suspended following an investigation by CSC, as requested by the Maldives Immigration.

Controller Hussain, appointed by the new administration in December, earlier revealed that the investigation was requested as part of their work to improve the institution, given the fact that the previous administration had disregarded all laws and procedures.
