MRM candidate Nadira submits financial statement

The candidate has encouraged all others who ran for the parliamentary election in April to submit their financial statement

Aiminath Nadira, who ran for the South-Galolhu constituency parliament seat, is the first candidate to have submitted their financial statement to the Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM).

Nadira, a member of the government coalition’s Maumoon Reform Movement, submitted her financial statement on Thursday.

The candidate has encouraged all others who ran for the parliamentary election in April to submit their financial statement; Nadira was praised as being the first Malé candidate to remove campaign posters and banners as well.

All candidates that contested in April’s election are required to submit financial statements pertaining to their campaign period, within a month of the electoral date.

While this period expires on 6th May, the ECM has moved up the deadline by a day as the date falls on the first of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting.
