Central Henveiru MP Ali Azim has said that the Supreme Court is the source of every ordinary citizen’s suffering.

Speaking on RaajjeTV’s Fala Surukhee show on Thursday night, MP Azim said that people will never reach a level of prosperity in their lives if they do not receive any justice, which will also impact the development of the Maldives.

MP Azim said that reforming the Supreme Court is the only way for the people to receive any justice.

He said that the Supreme Court has also been overstepping its authority by making and changing laws, which is the constitutional duty of the parliament.

He also said that the Supreme Court has been left unchecked and has been obtaining more and more legal powers because of the discord between MPs.
