All of the Youth Ministry’s 100-day pledges will be fulfilled this month, states Acting Youth Minister Ali Waheed.
At Wednesday’s press conference, Minister Waheed said that, not counting weekends, the government’s 100 days will be up by March 27.
Minister Waheed noted that since one of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s biggest pledge is to build a public swimming pool, they have already designated the area for the project and that details will be provided on March 26.
The government has announced that it will be building an Olympic sized swimming pool complex in Male’ City.
Minister Waheed said that they will also open a table tennis hall on March 17 and an outdoor gym on March 26.
The government’s 100-day pledges for the sports sector are: appointing an experienced sports councilor for each island, providing a MVR 500,000 budget to every sports association, conducting an audit of the Maldivian sports sector, providing equal allowances for all national teams, holding a water sports convention, and inaugurating a project to build an Olympic sized swimming pool.
Most of these pledges have been fulfilled.
