The Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture has announced a modern agriculture programme for the youth.

The ministry announced in a statement earlier this week that the program will focus primarily on teaching participants to grow products hydroponically.

The ministry is yet to decide which islands the programme is to be carried out on, and the statement says it will factor in availability of a market to purchase the products grown as part of the programme.

Residents of islands from across the country can apply to participate, through respective local government councils.

Deadline for application has been set at noon, on 7th March.
