The body had been dressed in women’s clothing but damaged beyond recognition
The corpse of a women who is yet to be identified has washed up ashore in Naivadhoo island of Haa Dhaal atoll on Tuesday.
Ahmed Faiz, president of the island’s local government council, said that the body washed up ashore on the island at about 11:50am.
Faiz said that the body is yet unidentified and the circumstances of her death are unclear. The body had been dressed in women’s clothing but damaged beyond recognition.
A team from the Maldives Police Service is on the island and investigating the matter.
