Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is to halt ferry and express launch services between capital city Male’ and its suburban extension Hulhumale from Monday onwards.

According to the company, they will be halting the regular ferry services between Male’ and Hulhumale' from 12am Tuesday, announcing the decision that they will be bringing major changes to ferry services and schedules.

Although they are to halt ferry and express speedboat services from the 06th of November, MTCC revealed that their premium ferry services will proceed as before.

MTCC also revealed that further updates on ferry and speedboat schedules will be uploaded on their official website as well as social media, as they come.

Following the opening of the bridge to the general public, those who opt for travelling by sea have been observed as being significantly less.
