The proposed budget for 2019 consisting of MVR 29 billion has been sent to the parliament, a trusted source has confirmed.

The finance ministry has also confirmed that the proposed state budget has been sent to the parliament for consideration.

The proposed budget has considered the financing needed for president-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s government and was sent to parliament with the approval of finance minister Ahmed Munavar.

The proposed state budget for this year was MVR 27.9 billion.

The finance ministry is legally obligated to send the upcoming year’s state budget before October 31.
