The citizens gave their verdict through their votes: Lawyer Hisaan
'We hope the citizen's decision will be upheld'
All of the hearings in the trial of the constitutional case have been concluded
The Supreme Court is yet to issue their verdict in the case

The citizens gave their verdict in the presidential election, says prominent attorney Hisaan Hussain.

Hisaan, who represented the joint opposition coalition in the constitutional case filed by outgoing President Abdulla Yameen to annul the result of the election, expressed her hope that the Supreme Court will uphold the citizen’s verdict, when they issue their own verdict.

The attorney previously asserted that the constitutional case filed by the President is one that was filed without following due procedure after complaints surfaced regarding the Presidential polls and that it was filed because the outgoing President refuses to accept defeat. Hisaan stated that this case has no basis.

President Yameen’s allegations are made up of a disappearing checkmark, a marker with disappearing ink, and a ring that elections officials allegedly used to rig the election. The allegations of the use of erasers had been added to the points noted by the plaintiff in Tuesday’s hearing. Afterwards, Hisaan said that the only thing missing in President Abdulla Yameen’s court case is a magic carpet.

While the Supreme Court concluded all three hearings in the trial on Tuesday, they are yet to issue a verdict in the case.
