The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has ordered the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure to publicize the points assigned to applicants for the state housing project, as well as to open the opportunity for complaint submissions.

The commission on Sunday gave instructions to the ministry on the procedures regarding the "Hiyaa" housing project.

The commission stated that it had informed the ministry to complete the evaluation according to procedure, to publicize the details of the list of applicants and how points have been given and to open the opportunity for complaints submissions, for those who have issues with their points or other issues.

The ministry has also been asked to respond to the complaints via writing and publicize the final list after responding to all of the submitted complaints. The commission also requested the ministry to follow procedure and use corrupt-free practices as to ensure transparency and fairness.

Last week, the commission had blocked the ministry from issuing land from Hulhumale' Phase II since the government was ealier asked to refrain from beginning any new projects during the transfer of government.

While, the ministry stopped issuing applications on Monday, the commission allowed them to continue issuing applications the next day.
