The Joint Opposition has pledged to re-investigate how the flats for the government’s social housing project were issued and give them to those who actually meet the criteria.

The opposition coalition’s manifesto released on Sunday states that it will investigate whether corruption was involved in the social housing project, conducted by President Abdulla Yameen’s government.

In the manifesto, which includes pledges from all of the four opposition parties, they pledge to provide housing to everyone in need and to temporarily give free housing to those unable to pay rent.

They also pledge to give subsidies to help people pay for social housing.
