Residents of Alif Dhaal Omadhoo and Mahibadhoo gave a warm welcome to opposition Presidential hopeful Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s running mate Faisal Naseem, upon his arrival in the island as part of his Alif Dhaal atoll tour.
Naseem arrived at the atoll’s capital on Saturday afternoon in order to conduct door-to-door activities in the region to garner support for the opposition coalition’s candidacy in the approaching Presidential Election slated for the 23rd of September.
While Naseem was greeted with a gracious welcome, he also met with a number of residents of both islands.
Naseem is being accompanied by main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s Vice President Mohamed Shifaz, MPs Ibrahim Shareef and Anara Naeem as well as Jumhooree Party (JP)’s councilors Adam Azim and Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal during his Alif Dhaal atoll tour.
Moreover, Naseem and team had visited top spots of the islands for inspection including schools, health centers as well as households. Although his time at both islands were limited, Naseem had visited households to check on the residents as part of his door-to-door campaign.
