Two individuals have been arrested in a drug bust in Fuvahmulah City.

Police said that it had conducted a special operation on Sunday night, after receiving a tip that narcotics were being brought into the city.

Noting that a 25-year-old and 41-year-old were arrested in the operation, police said that the former was arrested on a boat traveling to Fuvahmulah from capital Malé City while the other was taken into custody from Fuvahmulah harbor.

Police said that they had found a packet containing suspected narcotics in the search into the boat the 26-year-old was traveling in.

While the Fuvahmulah Magistrate Court has remanded them for 15 days, police is investigating the matter.
