Opposition presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's running mate, Faisal Naseem- who is currently on a tour of Alifu Dhaalu atoll- met with Mandhoo island's campaign team on Monday morning.
While both have split up to cover more ground in the campaign work, Naseem and officials of the joint opposition received a warm welcome from Mandhoo.
They discussed on ways to further strengthen their campaign work.
Prior to heading to Mandhoo, the team landed at Maamigilli Airport where a number of residents had gathered to welcome and greet them.
Officials that accompanied Naseem on the trip include Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s vice president Mohamed Shifaz, Maradhoo constituency MP Ibrahim Shareef, Adhaalath Party's MP for Makunudhoo constituency Anara Naeem and Adam Azim and Mohamed Maleeh Jamal from Jumhooree Party.
Naseem will head to nine islands during the two-day trip; Mandhoo, Fenfushi, Dhihdhoo and Dhigurah on Monday and Hangnaameedhoo, Omadhoo, Mahibadhoo, Kunburudhoo and Maamigilli on Tuesday.
While this is his first trip since the Elections Commission accepted him as Solih's running mate, his first official campaign trip was to southernmost Addu and Fuvahmulah cities. He was selected as the opposition running mate on July 13.
