Former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel has said that time is running out for President Abdulla Yameen and that people in influential posts shall not fear his threats.
In a tweet on Friday, Dr. Jameel, who is President Yameen’s first vice president before being ousted for alleged disloyalty, said that people in influential positions should not let him destroy the economy.
“If he continues to manipulate judiciary, parliament, and election we’ll certainly face stern action by the EU Council and others. Time to wake up!”
In his tweet, Dr. Jameel also linked to an opinion piece written by Henri Malosse, the former President of the European Economic and Social Committee, in which he detailed the current political turmoil and the concerns regarding the upcoming September elections.
Time running out for YAG. People in influential posts shall not fear his threats & not let him destroy economy. If he continues to manipulate judiciary, parliament & election we‘ll certainly face stern action by @EUCouncil & others. Time to wake up! https://t.co/DNy6g6cf3s
