The opposition coalition’s presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih along with running mate Faisal Naseem arrived in Fuvahmulah City on Saturday, as part of their country-wide door-to-door campaign.
Solih, Naseem and team arrived in Fuvahmulan in the evening, with residents of all ages lining up from the island’s harbor to welcome the opposition team.
Both spent a generous period of time to meet and greet with the crowd.
While the team is currently in Fuvahmulah, this is Naseem’s first visit to his birth land since being nominated as Solih’s running mate on Friday night, and this is Solih’s first visit to the island as the opposition coalition’s presidential candidate.
The joint opposition parties many such trips are planned for its presidential candidate and running mate. Their main aim os to visit all inhabited islands in the country.
Solih began his first ever campaign trip since being elected as the opposition coalition candidate on Friday, where he visited Addu City districts to hear out the concerns of residents, with his spokesperson Mariya Ahmed Didi proceeding with his door-to-door campaign in the capital city Male’.
