The government said that their ‘thoughts and prayers are with all those affected’

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has conveyed condolences to the Japanese government over the deadly earthquake in their western coastal city of Osaka on Monday.
In a message, issued by Foreign Minister Mohamed Asim himself, the government said that their ‘thoughts and prayers are with all those affected’ by the magnitude-6.1 tremor.
The quake, which struck at about 8:00am in Osaka, injured over 300 people with at least three confirmed deaths.
The Maldivian embassy in Japan said following the earthquake that it has been in contact with Maldivians resident Osaka to confirm their status.
The Maldivian government had confirmed that all Maldivian residents in Osaka were safe.
