Three people have been confirmed dead and over 200 others injured in the magnitude-6.1 earthquake
Maldivians in Osaka at the time of Monday’s magnitude-6.1 earthquake in Japan’s western coastal city are safe, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said.
The foreign ministry, through their official Twitter account, said that all Maldivians residents in the city are safe and that the Maldivian mission in Tokyo is ‘closely monitoring’ the situation.
The Maldivian embassy in Japan said it has been in contact with said residents and has asked any individuals in need of assistance to contact them.
Three people have been confirmed dead and over 200 others injured in the earthquake. The three victims include a nine-year-old girl and an 80-year-old man.
