Ministry to begin distributing tablet computers to students on Monday
The ministry has been distributing tablet computers to teachers across the country
Students of local public schools will begin sessions for their second semester on Monday as well
The project is reportedly worth over MVR 200 million

The Maldivian Ministry of Education has set that it will begun distributing tablet computers to public schools student on Monday.

The ministry has been distributing tablet computers to teachers across the country, as part of the government’s highly publicized efforts to further ‘digitize’ teaching at state-run institutions.

An event to initiate said distribution process was held at the state-run primary education Iskandhar School in capital city Malé on 22nd May. The ministry has finished distributing the devices to teachers.

Students of local public schools will begin sessions for their second semester on Monday as well. 

The ministry has contracted local company Maxcom Technologies Pvt Ltd to purchase a total of 70,000 tablet computers. This project is reportedly worth over MVR 200 million.
