A man injured in an assault in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo on Thursday night has been taken to capital city Male’ for treatment.

Dhaalu Atoll Hospital Manager Hussain Shakir confirmed to RaajjeMV that a male foreigner was treated at the hospital earlier this morning for wounds sustained from an assault and has been sent to Male’ for further treatment.

Shakir said the victim has suffered severe injuries to the head and that while he had communicated on his way to Male’, his condition is now serious.

RaajjeMV understands that he was assaulted inside his room after an argument with another foreigner.

RaajjeMV was unable to contact the police service for details and so it is not yet clear whether any arrests have been made.
