The last phase in the construction of the bridge linking capital city Malé to its urban extention Hulhumalé will begin this month, Housing Minister Mohamed Muizzu has said.
Minister Muizzu said in a post on his Twitter account that the last phase in the bridge’s development is placing steel guards on the bridges main pillar.
This phase will begin on June 12th, Muizzu said in his post. The work currently ongoing at the bridge will be completed by Sunday.
Over a 1,000 employees are working on the project, called the China-Maldives ‘Everlasting’ Friendship Bridge. The bridge is to be completed by August.
