A speedboat carrying tourists overturned on Monday evening.
A witness told RaajjeMV that the speedboat left Gaafu Alif atoll’s The Residence Maldives resort for a picnic in Odegalla island.
He said that the tourists, who were wearing lifejackets, were unharmed but that the captain and one of the crewmen were injured.
The captain was unable to be transferred to Villingili Hospital due to the rough seas and all of them were taken back to the resort.
The witness also said that the speedboat has been lost at sea.
