These 16 atolls include all regions between Haa Alif and Laamu atolls

The Maldives Meteorological Services (MET Office) has predicted that most of Maldives will experience unconventionally strong winds and has issued a yellow alert level for 16 local atolls.

The MET Office said that these 16 atolls include all regions between Haa Alif and Laamu atolls. Here, the MET Office predicts winds to gust between a whopping 30 to 40 miles per hour.

The yellow alert will stand from 15:00 to Friday night.

Maldives is currently experiencing its ‘Hulhangu’ monsoon season, characterized by hot winds blowing from the south west and short showers.
