Utility company Fenaka has given Th. Guraidhoo a new 600kW generator to fix the electricity issues in the island.

Guraidhoo has been experiencing frequent power outages due to issues with its old generator. Many island residents have complained that their electrical equipment and appliances are being damaged due to the outages and protest was staged by the youth outside the power station.

Guraidhoo Council President Ali Rasheed told RaajjeMV that they have been asking Fenaka to fix the electricity issue for two years.

The island, with a population of 2,100, has a majority of ruling party supports.
