Former Prosecutor General Muhthaz Muhsin has been taken back to Maafushi Prison after being treated at ADK Hospital.

His family has said that Muhthaz was given a steroid injection due to a spinal issue.

After nine days at the hospital, he was taken back to prison on Tuesday evening.

This is the third time he has been given a steroid injection after being jailed.

In August, Muhthaz was placed in ADK Hospital to undergo physiotherapy for two weeks.

His wife, Shadiya Adam has said that doctors have advised him to do somethings after the steroid injection but that she is concerned that the correctional service would be uncooperative. The family has repeatedly said that the correctional service has been negligent in providing him treatment.

Muhthaz was sentenced to 17 years in prison for forging a court order to arrest President Abdulla Yameen.
