MDP’s goal can only be reached through Nasheed: Party deputy

MDP’s goal of fulfilling the expectations of citizens can only be attained through the work of former President Mohamed Nasheed, says the party’s deputy leader Mohamed Shifaz.
He said this on RaajjeTV's Fala Surukhee show on Saturday night.
Speaking on the show, Shifaz said that Nasheed is the only challenge to President Abdulla Yameen and that Nasheed’s work to win MDP’s primary election would result in him becoming eligible to run in the presidential election.
Shifaz repeatedly said that President Yameen will not gain anything by trying to stop the MDP candidate from running in the election and that it was a certainty that Nasheed’s name will be in the ballot.
“The citizens mainly want to get away from President Abdulla Yameen. The citizens aren’t silent because they support President Yameen. It’s because of this year’s election. The citizens want President Nasheed to run. It is a mistake for President Abdulla Yameen to think he can rule after arresting all the political leaders. The presidential election has to be earned. President Abdulla Yameen will try to obstruct a free election.”
