MACL decided to terminate 75 employees: MP Ameeth
'Deciding to terminate 75 employees from their jobs is a massive injustice', said MP Ameeth
He urged the government to reconsider their decision in order to ensure employees rights
Some employees have said that the decision was made by MACL's board of directors

Member of Parliament (MP) for Maduvvari Constituency Mohamed Ameeth has said that Maldives Airport Company Limited (MACL) plans to terminate a large number of their employees.

In a tweet posted by MP Ameeth, he mentioned that deciding to terminate 75 employees from their jobs is a massive injustice. While highlighting that the fasting month of Ramadan is just around the corner, he said that it is unacceptable that the employees have recieved their notices.

Additionally, MP Ameeth voiced his concerns regarding the decision made by a government office to dismiss many of their employees so abrubtly and urged MACL to reconsider their decision in order to ensure employees rights. He added that they should not infringe on the rights of staff making an honest living.

An employee from MACL informed about the ongoing rumors of the forthcoming terminations and confirmed that some of the employees have already received their termination notice. Furthermore, some employees have said that the decision was made by MACL's board of directors.

Regardless of the information received by RaajjeMV, MACL has not provided a comment. Therefore the reason for the said terminations are unclear.
