Justices to be sentenced for influencing official conduct on Wednesday
The last closed-door hearing was on Tuesday, in which defense lawyer Noorul Salaam was removed from the courtroom

Criminal Court Judge Adam Arif and Civil Court Judge Mohamed Hailam had given statements during the investigation affirming that the justices had influenced official conduct

Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed and Justice Ali Hameed is set to be sentenced over charges of influencing official conduct on Wednesday.

The last closed-door hearing was on Tuesday, in which defense lawyer Noorul Salaam was removed from the courtroom.

Two secret witnesses were presented to testify against the justices. The presiding judge had also given a statement for the case, but the court decided that it did not violate procedure.

Criminal Court Judge Adam Arif and Civil Court Judge Mohamed Hailam had given statements during the investigation affirming that the justices had influenced official conduct.

Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed was sentenced to four months and 24 days on Tuesday after being found guilty of shutting down the Government E-Letter Management System (GEMS).

The two justices are also charged with terrorism and bribery and have been remanded for the rest of their trials.
