Jailed former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s court hearings on Tuesday were cancelled over his ill health.
The opposition leader is charged with attempting to overthrowing the government and has been remanded for the rest of his trial.
His lawyer, Maumoon Hameed, tweeted that they informed the police service that he would not be able to attend the hearing due to his deteriorating health.
Two hearings were scheduled on Tuesday, one on terrorism and the other on obstruction.
