The Anti-Corruption Commission’s report for this year’s first-quarter shows a rise in the number of cases filed with the institution, in comparison to the same period last year.
The commission had a total of 280 cases registered to it by the end of March, 162 cases that were filed and 118 that it took on.
A total of 274 cases were registered at the commission by the same period, last year. The commission said that this is an increase of just about 2.6 percent.
Out of the aforementioned cases registered this year, the commission has begun investigating a total of 248.
The commission’s report also states that it had redirected a total of 16 cases that do not fall within its mandate, to relevant institutions.
