Former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb's wife Mariyam Nashwa has expressed concern over her husband's worsening eye condition caused by Glaucoma.
Nashwa in a tweet posted early Monday morning wrote that Glaucoma-stricken Adeeb had said he has been having lower vision from the sides of his pupils.
According to Nashwa, her husband who is doing time for a long jail sentence, is experiencing lack of vision due to Glaucoma to which he was diagnosed a long time back.
I am worried for Adeeb's eye sight since he said that he has been feeling lower vision from the sides of his eyes. Glaucoma is an eye condition which gradually shows peripheral vision loss and later to the loss of central vision. MCS hasn't showed him to eye doc since Feb 1st.

The former VP's legal representatives had previously appealed continuously on the Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) to provide Adeeb with the medical care his condition needs.
Adeeb himself had appealed in court to provide him with adequate medical care before he goes completely blind.
"Glaucoma is an eye condition which gradually shows peripheral vision loss and later to the loss of central vision" reads Nashwa's tweet.
While Nashwa highlighted that Adeeb has not had a doctor's consultation since the 01st of February, the family had on multiple occasions appealed on the MCS to handover adeeb's consultation responsibilities to them if they cannot get the job done.
Nashwa had added that when they had appealed to show Adeeb to an ophthalmologist, they had brought in a dermatologist and an orthopedic surgeon for check-up.
