A female jogger was severely injured on Thursday night in Nolhivaranfaru of Haa Dhaalu Atoll after being run over by a motorcycle.

After the accident at the harbor area, the woman was taken to the atoll’s regional hospital in Hulhudhuffushi of the same atoll.

Her husband, Abdulla Haaroon told RaajjeMV that she has a skull fracture and a tear in her left thigh. He said that she is in good health and the seriousness of her skull fracture will be known after she undergoes the necessary tests.

He said that a speeding motorcyclist with his headlights off ran over her from behind while they were jogging together on a dark road.

Police have not yet answered inquiries.
