Jailed former Prosecutor General Muhthaz Muhsin’s family has expressed concern that authorities are trying to give him a steroid injection again.
His family has claimed that authorities have been negligent in following doctors’ advice and treating Muthaz and have instead been giving injections and doing whatever else the government wants.
His family also said that authorities have ignored the doctors’ advice to provide Muhthaz with physiotherapy.
The family said their wish is to make the medical treatment of Muhthaz a nonpolitical issue and for the authorities to provide him with the necessary treatment by following the advice of the first neurosurgeon that looked into his case and sending Muhthaz abroad for treatment.
Speaking to RaajjeMV on Sunday, his family said they will do whatever it takes to keep Muhthaz from becoming disabled.
Shadiya Adam, Muhthaz’s wife, on Sunday tweeted that the younger brother of the prisons commissioner reversing the recommendation from two neurosurgeons to give him treatment abroad was a conflict of interest.
Muhthaz Muhsin is serving a 17-year prison sentence over terrorism charges for his involvement in the Maamigili Court attempting to issue a court order to arrest President Abdulla Yameen.
