Expiring Regulations
20 regulations about to expire extended until April 2019
It's the 10th year to extend the said regulations.
10 regulations were abolished last year.

20 regulations under General Regulations Act that were to expire on 30th April, Monday have been reinstated for another year. 

It is the 10th year to renew the regulations under the General Regulations Act. The Act which was established in 2008, include 83 articles. However, as regulations were compiled based on some of these articles, 63 of them have been annulled. 

Male' Planning Regulation, Hulhumale' Planning Regulation, Maldives Building Act and Lawyers Regulation were abolished by the current administration last year. Similarly, a total of 10 regulations were abolished in 2017.

Several regulations, including Statistics Regulation and Insurance Industry Regulation, were extended till the 30th of April 2019. The decision to extend the said regulations was made in a parliament meeting with 35 votes.
