Parliament member for North-Maafannu constituency Imthiyaz Fahmy has said that citizens have not seen a more terrifying rule than incumbent President Yameen Abdul Gayoom's, in recent history.
Speaking at the joint opposition gathering held on Friday night in Alif Alif atoll's Rasdhoo island, the MP said that justice is yet to be served for the several homicide cases throughout the tyranical rule of President Yameen.
Highlighting the brutal homicide of Late Dr Afrasheem Ali who represented Ungoofaaru constituency, blogger Yameen Rasheed and the abduction of Journalist Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla, Imthiyaz said that justice is yet to find their way.
"Maldives is seeing a recordbreaking number of homicides during one rule, one government. As far as I can recall, the Maldives has not till date seen such a terrifying regime" said Imthiyaz.
The MP further said that the state has evanesced and perished under President Yameen's rule, adding that the president must take full responsibility for this.
Imthiyaz appealed on officials of state institutions to return to constitutional ways.
The MP said that a day will soon come, when President Yameen will have to answer to all these atrocities.
