One of the riders of the motorcycles involved in an accident in capital city Malé on Tuesday is in serious condition, the hospital where he is being treated has attested.

45-year-old Ismail Naseem had sustained head injuries and wounds on his face, the ADK Hospital said. The 20-year-old rider of the other motorcycle involved in the accident only sustained minor injuries.

The motorcycles collided while riding on Boduthakurufaanu Magu, the road encompassing the outskirts of the capital city, in front of the President’s Office.

The motorcycles had been heavily damaged in the accident.
