Maldivian students had earned a total of 45 medals from international awarding bodies in the last four years, says Education Minister Aishath Shiham.
Shiham said that this is the most medals – gold, silver, or bronze – ever brought in within a span of four years.
She said this while speaking at the Maldives School Sports Colours Awards event held on Monday night.
Minister Shiham said that the awards, which have been held annually, have encouraged local students to take more of an interest in sports.
