Maldives Olympic Committee is preparing to hold this year’s general assembly at Goidhoo island in Baa Atoll.
The assembly is to be held on Saturday and members of the committee left to Goidhoo island a day before, where they received a warm welcome upon their arrival.
Ahmed Marzooq, the secretary-general of the committee, said that he hopes the event ‘will go smoothly’, despite the recent turbulent weather in the country.
Marzooq said that the committee wanted to make the general assembly a bigger event this year, to mark the fact that it is the only instance when all local bodies setting regulations for every sports played in the country come together 'under one roof'.
Marzooq also said that residents of Baa atoll were extremely willing to accommodate to them.
