A man reported missing from capital city's suburban extension Villimale’ has been found in Male’.

While a search was launched after the family reported him missing, 41-year-old Ibrahim Khaleel, a resident of Thimarafushi, a RaajjeTV journalist met him in a house with a friend in Henveiru ward of the city.

Khaleel said he was not in hiding and that he had also attended the rally held by the Joint Opposition parties at Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s campaign site on Friday.

However, his daughter Mariyam Azza told RaajjeMV that they have not heard of him since leaving for the Friday prayers. She had expressed concern saying that, in the past, he would always call them if he was going to be late.

Khaleel told the RaajjeTV journalist that he left the house after being dissatisfied over a personal issue, but it did not involve his children. He said that he told his family before leaving that he would also be getting money to pay the electricity bill and other expenses.

He also said that his family couldn’t contact him because his phone was switched off, but that there was no reason to worry, adding that he had also gone to work.
