NGO Women & Democracy has introduced the Gender Equality Manifesto (GEM).
The manifesto was unveiled in a ceremony at Salt Café by former Attorney General Dhiyana Saeed.
At the ceremony, Vice President of Women & Democracy Areej Hussain said the purpose of the manifesto is to put gender issues into prime focus and ensuring that future policy makers, legislators and head of state address gender issues and the concerns of women.
Areej noted that in the previous elections, the party manifestos paid little attention to gender equality.
The Gender Equality Manifesto consists of eight categories: Supporting data backed decisions, stopping misrepresentation, ending stereotypes, jumpstarting WDCs, addressing disparity, breaking the glass ceiling, eliminating the cost of being a woman, and ending violence and supporting victims.
